EXCELLO 2255 SILAS HOGAN "JUST GIVE ME A CHANCE"/"EVERYBODY BEEDS SOMEBODY". The record is Vg++/Vg+ ; both sides play great ; labels have mildew damage as shown. Silas Hogan is one of my personal favorites ; I visited him in his home in 1969 and published his story in Blues Unlimited in Feb. 1970. Saw him and Guitar Kelly live in various juke joints in Baton Rouge 1969-70. The harmonica is by either Whispering Smith or Sylvester Buckley. No harp on A-side.

GRADING : MINT (M) ; M- (NM) ; Vg++ ; Vg+ ; VG ; Vg- ; G+ ; G ; G- ETC. PLAY GRADE IS OFTEN ALSO STATED. THE LABEL CONDITION IS NOT PART OF THE VISUAL GRADE ; LABEL DEFECTS ARE STATED. I do use the M (Mint) grade but not very often. My Vg++ is a record you will never have to upgrade unless there is a label issue.
