Description

ORIGINAL 1968  LIGHT PINK (Lilac) LABEL FIRST UK STEREO PRESSING on Andrew Loog Oldham’s Immediate Records Label No. IMSP 012 In EXCELLENT CONDITION.

Ogden’s Nut Gone Flake by the Small Faces is a concept album released in May of 1968 which consists of six original songs on side one and the Very Original and for all intents and purposes the very First Rock Opera that is based on an original whimsical psychedelic fairy tale on side two relating the adventures of "Happiness Stan" and his quest to find out where the other half of the moon went when it waned. It was narrated by British Comedian Stanley Unwin in his unique ‘Unwinese’ gobbledegook! Unfortunately, due to the Albums complexities, Small Faces was never able to recreate this Rock Opera Live on Stage.

The Round 5 Panel Foldout Die Cut Cover which was Printed and Made in England by Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd. under the U.K. PATENT APPLICATION NO. 21639/68" “DESIGN APPLICATION No. 936818” Exhibits Brilliant Colors and is Completely Intact in Excellent Condition. There is some very slight wear along the outside edge of the cover and a very small tear and crease in one location as noted. (See Photograph)

There are “NO” Punch Holes, Drill Holes, Saw Cuts or Cutout Marks of Any Kind Whatsoever.

The Vinyl Record is in Near Mint Condition and still exhibits a Glossy Luster with a couple of imperceptible hairline surface marks that do not detract from the Visual or Audio Quality of the Vinyl Record!

The Original Light Pink (Lilac) Record Labels are Clean and exhibit No Perceptible Spindle Scuff Marks. (See Photographs)

The Audio Quality of the Vinyl Records is Phenomenal. The Music of Small Faces and Urwin's Narration is Clean, Clear and Crisp through either Speakers or Headphones with a very slight Crackle at the Beginning when the tone arm initially sets down, a very slight occasional background crackle on Side 2 during Unwin’s narration of the Adventures of Happiness Stan and an occasional very slight Crackle between Songs on Side 1 .

The Vinyl Record was played on a Technics SL1300 Mk2 Turn Table with a GRADO Diamond Stylus through a Yamaha Component Sound System and Yamaha NS-1000 Monitors with the Vertical Downward Force and Horizontal Tracking Force on the Tone Arm set at 1.5 grams respectively.

Depending upon the Sound System Utilized, the Audio Quality may or may not be Equivalent!
