Small Faces were an English rock band from East London.
The group was founded in 1965 by members Steve Marriott, Ronnie Lane, Kenney Jones, and Jimmy Winston, although by 1966 Winston was replaced by Ian McLagan as the band's keyboardist.
The band is remembered as one of the most acclaimed and influential mod groups of the 1960s with memorable hit songs such as "Itchycoo Park", "Lazy Sunday", "All or Nothing", "Tin Soldier", and their concept album Ogdens' Nut Gone Flake.
They later evolved into one of the UK's most successful psychedelic acts before disbanding in 1969.
After Small Faces disbanded, with Marriott leaving to form Humble Pie, the remaining three members were joined by Ronnie Wood as guitarist, and Rod Stewart as their lead vocalist, both from The Jeff Beck Group, and the new line-up was renamed Faces, except in North America, where this group's first album (and only their first album) was credited to Small Faces. This practice has continued on all subsequent North American reissues of the album to this day. A revived version of the original Small Faces existed from 1975 to 1978.
Small Faces were one of the biggest musical influences on the Britpop movement of the 1990s. Despite the fact the band were together for just four years in their original incarnation, Small Faces' music output from the mid to late sixties remains among the most acclaimed British mod and psychedelic music of that era. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012.
The Autumn Stone was the posthumous retrospective double album released in the UK by Small Faces in 1969 on the Immediate label.
The double album contains most of the Immediate and Decca original 7" single releases together with live recordings from a concert at Newcastle City Hall and unreleased material from their unfinished fourth LP 1862, including "Autumn Stone", an alternate version of "Afterglow Of Your Love", covers of two Tim Hardin songs ("If I Were A Carpenter" and "Red Balloon") and the instrumental "Wide Eyed Girl On The Wall".
It was released by Andrew Loog Oldham soon after the band announced their break up in 1969.
In Germany, a single LP with only the new material was released with the title In Memoriam.

The vinyls
On initial inspection it is hard to see a blemish at all on all four sides, these looks as new in my opinion and gleems still retaining their sheen from new, This has only ever been played barely a few times only in my opinion. Bothe vinyls lay perfectly flat on the turntable and is free from any warping.
Even in strong light these looks awesome, Please note most of the vinyls storage life it has been in a seperate poly sleeve to minimise any sleeve removal marks\scuffs. Any marks that could possibly ever be seen under a strong light would only be sleeve removal. I must emphisise that I can't see any scratches or marks that would effect the audio quality at all!
The Audio Quality
The audio is absolutely exceptional cristal clear and vibrant through out with (no) loud constant clicks or pops and certainly no skips or jumps! Importantly the reason that the audio is so clear and vibrant is that all four sides were pressed from the earliest masters and feature 1to 1 mother stampers on all four sides. Very rare to find in this condition. More importantly these have barely ever been played and there is (no) distortion or any signs that this has been overplayed at all!Cristal clear and very vibrant audio UK press!
Stunning, exceptionally sounding copy! Audio Graded at Near mint in my opinion.
Please note! This vinyl has been stored in a case laying dormant for many years, A build up of dirt and dust in the grooves causes static crackle\ticks!,, A constant clean before each play is recomended! This will reduce any static and will enhance the audio quality!
The labels
These are the original pink immediate labels! (Only 1st UK press)
Very minimal spider traces can only be seen looked at an angle in strong light ! Little if no spindle wear the spindle hole is perfectly round with absolutely no ware at all! All indications are that these have just had very minimal play only in my opinion.
The record sleeves
These are the original a plain white poly lined sleeves patented and Made in Great Britain text on one side. No splits or tears light creasing/fading/browning with age only. The cover
This is the original 1st issued 1st UK Press unlaminated gatefold cover in exceptional condition with bare minimal storageware in the form of light edge rubbing only noticed if looked for only in my opinion. Any marks/indents noticed you really have to look for them to notice in my opinion. Amazingly no real nasty creases to mention. Graded at least better than excellent in my opinion! Note All vinyls are now stored outside of the cover for protection. This is how I have always stored my records!
