IMMEDIATE RECORDS cat# IMSP 012 ~ STEREO 1968 Original 1968 pressing psychedelic LP, with "Thanks to:" list, and "...FULL VOLUME" texts on the LILAC lables.
The eclectic psychedelic direction music was taking in the later sixties saw MOD bands and previously staunch blues r'n b artists turning all kinds of imaginative corners. Nobody 'fell into place' because it had become free for all to express their own grooves! Indeed The SMALL FACES were special in setting up their own musical highs pressed into the British pop scene - fabulous singles Itchycoo Park and Lazy Sunday span and reeled alongside The Move, Traffic and The Kinks in the charts, while 'Flower Power' bloomed in The US West Coast in collective objection to a losing war raging abroad. This record saw these lads exploring and fascinating over London Town sensibilities of humour, sound construction and irreverent free fun-loving. Timeless tracks that still light up, illuminating vibrations in psych! Innovation didn't end here - even this sleeve made us look more than twice, begging questions to be asked for "what's happening here?" Yes, this was certainly something else! Musically fulfilling, it's an album of complexity and completion. It's also what collecting psych sounds on vinyl, is all about.
