A special album by any standard, many cite this as the group's greatest achievement, but also one that defines the period for British pop and rock music!
The cover is an astonishing piece for a start - and few have survived intact, because of the tenuous construction. The hinged folds are VERY short and of thin card.... however this copy is absolutely in astounding well preserved shape! No separations, solid as can be.
Musically the album is deceptively flippant in places, yet there's some striking rhythms and seriously great complexity too in here.
The main 'hit' is on this, the cockney brilliance 'Lazy Sunday', bearing slight relationship to The KINKS perhaps with their 'Lazing On A Sunny Afternoon', but the bouncy joviality of this is not at all as languid.
Stan Unwin is a pleasurable aside which doesn't detract or steal from the tracks as he rambles backway sidedoors, most joylybold! ....or something along those lines :-))
CONDITION;
VINYL is superb, visually Near Mint, but I detected some light crackle in quiet spots so EXCELLENT, and plays really wonderfully.
LABLES are NM
The sensitively designed COVER is NEAR MINT with no signs of stress or wear. Outstanding!
The art design required a shaped inner sleeve. I am guessing this is still the original half-circular inner too - it's in great condition anyway.
