Description
A great opportunity to buy an original copy of the Small Faces' second VINYL LP called "From The Beginning".
This is a U.K. early pressing released in 1967 on the red Decca label (LK 4879)(mono) and has 14 tracks (see photos for track listings).
The matrix numbers in the dead wax are:- XARL-7881-5B (side one) and XARL-7882-8A (side two).
The vinyl is in a clean and shiny GOOD condition. I always examine and grade records under a bright table lamp and there are many light surface and scuff marks noticeable, some covering several tracks, but nothing too serious. I have played both sides and there are some clicks and pops at various times, but mainly noticeable between tracks, otherwise the LP plays fine and sounds great.
The labels have an initial and name written on them (see photos), otherwise they are free from any major defects. Spindle marks are evident when tilted towards the light.The vinyl is flat and has no warps of any description.
The record is housed within a poly-lined inner sleeve in a Very Good condition considering its age.
The cover is laminated on the front only and is in a FAIR condition, due to a 4cm tear in from the opening edge. The remaining edges are still quite strong and the text on the spine is clearly readable (see photos). There is some minor ring wear on the front and some creasing noticeable near the corners. There is some slight lifting of the laminate close to the top of the spine. The back cover has signs of aging and wear along the opening edge and a graze mark near the top edge.
Despite the shortcomings of the cover, this is a very collectable Small Faces LP and should be of interest to avid collectors.
