'ITS THE VINYL COUNTDOWN'
Welcome to 'Its the vinyl countdown' music auctions. Here you will find some of the most incredible rare records and music memorabilia for your collection. We pride ourselves on auctioning only the highest grade records and items, you will not see anything listed here below EX+ condition, unles the item is extremely rare. You will not see worn covers, warped records or scratched records. We simply do not bother with them.
We list in many cases, 'Archived' & 'mint' condition items, we are able to source from private collections all over the UK. So we hope you can be put at ease that what you are bidding on is of the highest quality.
We play through most of the records, unless the item is clearly mint, or sealed..in which case we don't play them, thus maintaining their 'unplayed' status! Obviously with some of these rare items there will be the odd 'anomoly' along the way , the odd little static pop or lead in 'sizzle' for a split second.. nothing is perfect we find! all systems differ, but we aim to describe these as accurately as possible for you.... PLEASE ENJOY THIS ITEM YOU ARE NOW LOOKING AT..

THE VINYL EX+ SUPERB CONDITION
As you can see, this vinyl is the highly prized 1st //1 UK pressing with the //1 matrix numbers on each side, & EARLIEST '1 1 1' MOTHER STAMPERS confirming this is a first pressing.
IMAGINE, BACK IN THE DAY THIS LP SHIFTED MILLIONS OF COPIES, 99% TRASHED AT TEENAGERS PARTIES, AND MISTREATED ON CHEAP RECORD PLAYERS..FINDING A DECENT COPY AFTER 40 YEARS IS VERY HARD..AND COPIES LIKE THIS ARE THIN ON THE GROUND..ESPECIALLY THE FIRST PRESS!
So with that in mind, this first pressing is a superb vinyl which has retained its amazing glossy sheen and finish. There is no dulling anywhere and overall it is in incredible condition for an LP of this age. We rarely see copies of this LP at all, let alone like this.
The centre hole shows a few tiny spindle skate lines, the holes remain tight with no wear.
Under a very bright light you can see there are some light whisp lines , and a few light marks here and there, but no scratches that affect the play and whilst not an absolute MINT vinyl, the play of this copy is exceptional..barely a hint of 'lead in crackle' before the music roars out the speakers!
There is no damage or wear to either side or anything which spoils the play.
THE LABELS MINT Both are superb condition, original matt labels with no damage or writing
NOTE: First pressings had no question mark after the 'SLAYED' wording above the spindle hole..later copies had this added.
THE SLEEVE EX+
Correct LAMINATED first issued 'MacNeill' earliest sleeve. Later presses were unlaminated
This whole sleeve is in SUPERB condition with very little signs of wear
The edges are all super clean with only the feintest traces of rub on the extreme tips of the open edge.
All colours and inks remain in outstanding condition like new!!!
The lamination is gleaming like a mirror and there is no 'lift' along the spine edge where the spine sits 'proud' forcing the laminate to raise from the cardboard normally- this sleeve has remianed tight -Just a couple of little spider lines over the edges. The open edge remains in immaculate sharp condition with little hint of handling
a couple of very light thumb 'arc' creases on the front sleeve
The spine edge is totally unmarked and all legends are perfectly readable, just a couple of tiny spider lines over the edge
WE CLARIFY BY SAYING, THIS SLEEVE IS SIMPLY OUTSTANDING QUALITY.
THE INNER SLEEVE MINT-
poly lined original inner sleeve- SUPERB, NO SCISSORING OR DAMAGE
