Description

Verve MGV-4002-2 2-LP set Ella Fitzgerald sings Rodgers and Hart Songbook, with orchestra conducted by  Buddy Bregman. 1956 mono classic. Black Verve deep-groove label. Gatefold jacket, signed “Sincerest Wishes Ella Fitzgerald" written diagonally in black ink. Liner notes by Rodgers and Hammerstein. Vinyl 8.5/10; Spot auditioned and plays well, with punchy mono sound and very light surface noise. Name neatly rubber-stamped on gatefold and on record label (see images). Jacket 7.5/10 with some delamination and wear on spine, 5” light diagonal crease on front, upper left, ex-library sticker in upper left front cover.

Note: The owner of this record was a librarian and reportedly had the album autographed when he met Ms. Fitzgerald. Similar autograph found on other Ella records, notably the Cole Porter 7” shown (for reference only, not for sale) which sold on ebay for USD 300.
