Guitatist Mason Williams had a hit with the song "Classical Gas" back in 1968 (he was also a comedy writer on Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour, The Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour, and Saturday Night Live) and put out more than a dozen albums but unless you were a fan, you're probably not familiar with most of them. In 1987, Williams teamed with Mannheim Steamroller to release a new album on the American Gramaphone label. The album, titled Classical Gas, includes a remake of the 1968 song. Another cut from this album, "Country Idyll", was a 1988 nominee for a Grammy in the country music category for "Best Instrumental Performance by a Soloist, Group or Orchestra". The album went gold in 1991. Williams' plexiglass guitar appears on the cover of this album.

This copy is enhanced with Mason Williams' handwritten signature in silver ink on the front cover of the album jacket. Cover is EXCELLENT (slightly blunted lower corner, short 1/2" hairline break visible on the right edge of the rear cover above the barcode). Vinyl is Near Mint, and may be unplayed as well. (I never played it, and the folks I got it from claim they never did either.) Nice!
