This signed copy of Gene Vincent's "Sounds Like Gene Vincent" was originally sold at auction on August 24, 1989 at Christie's Auction House in London. An original copy of that day's auction catalogue, which includes items from the Beatles, Elvis Presley, Andy Warhol, and many others, will be included in this sale. As you can see in the photos, Christie's provided a plastic outer sleeve that has a sticker on it which lists the lot number (289) and the unit number (3). The Christie's sticker on the inner sleeve includes a number that was for internal use by the auction house. Please see the photos for a close-up of the description for lot 289, of which this signed record was a part.

The record itself is in VG++ condition, very clean and glossy with some extremely light marks that do not seriously affect play. The beautiful rainbow Capitol labels are in fantastic condition, with some very minor wear around the spindle holes. The original inner sleeve is included and is in good shape, with some creasing at the bottom corners. The jacket is in VG+ condition. The front cover is beautiful and the spine is fully intact, though there is some light staining on the back cover (nothing out of the ordinary) and the top and bottom seams have just begun to separate at the open edge of the jacket (~0.5 cm on the top, ~1 cm on the bottom). The signature is at the top of the back cover. It was written in blue pen, and remains very sharp and clear. For their age, this jacket and record are in really great shape. I use the Goldmine Grading Guide and grade conservatively.

This record is very difficult to find in this nice condition, let alone a signed copy with provenance from one of the world's preeminent auction houses. Do not miss out on this opportunity!
