Description
SIDNEY BECHET ON BLUE NOTE LABEL. THIS IS TWO (2) 10 INCH LPS, BLP-7002 & BLP-7003, JAZZ CLASSICS VOLUME 1 AND VOLUME 2 NM-/NM- On Volume 1, BLP-7002, tracks are: Muskrat Ramble, Summertime, Weary Blues, Blue Horizon, Dear Old Southland and Salty Dog. On Volume 2, BLP-7003, tracks are: St. Louis Blues, Jazz Me Blues, Pounding Heart Blues, High Society, Blues for Tommy Ladnier, and Jackass Blues. The covers have some tiny numbers written just above the lower back corner. These numbers are about 0.5 centimeters high by 1 centimeter wide. Even the bottom seams have very little rubbing. Beyond that the covers are flawless. Each LP has a small number sticker on one side and one side only (see photos). In one case, the sticker has just about become detached of its own accord. There are no spindle marks on the labels. The vinyl is flawless. This LP plays remarkably quiet for a 1950 recording and pressing. The surface noise is almost imperceptible except in the quietest passages. The label has the 167 Lexington Ave NYC address on it and of course it has that "deep groove" mold mark.. There is an "ear" in the dead wax. Goldmine says this LP Set in this condition is worth $500.00. I am a collector, not a dealer. And I like this LP set so if you don't agree with the way I described it, send it back for a refund.
