SIDDHARTHA Weltschmerz (Private Press Z 33 007) Amon Düül RARE German Krautrock 1st Press EX++
Extremely RARE original German first pressing of Siddhartha`s genre-bending album "Weltschmerz", released as a private pressing in 1975. Only 400 ever made!
Siddhartha originally hailed from Stuttgart, in southern Germany. Although released in 1975, the predominance of violin, as well as abrupt changes in mood and tempo on "Weltschmerz" remind us of early-seventies psychedelic musings by the likes of Amon Düül II. Only 400 copies of Siddhartha`s only album were originally pressed, making it a vinyl collectable of the highest order.
GRADING:
EX++ COVER with light general wear. Please see photos for details.
- Original fully laminated sleeve in very fine overall condition.
- A dozen or so light creases to the spine, front and back.
- Four or five light creases along top and bottom edges.
- Slight fraying to opening edge.
EX+ RECORD with some visible signs of previous play. Again, very fine overall condition.
- Near-pristine audio reproduction must be graded MINT- almost all the way through.
- When viewed under bright light, the record has light general hairlining, mostly from sleeve removal.
- Light background crackle in between some tracks, within a single track ("Weit Weg"), as well as in the run-off grooves.
- A longish but superficial (fingernail?) scuff (1 ½ inches) on side one is absolutely inaudible.
- A tiny nick on side two (1 mm long; in "Weit Weg") causes eight or nine light clicks.
- Original first-pressing matt-black "private press" labels with one or two light spindle lines on each side.
- The matrix stamps in the run-off grooves read "Z 33 007 - A - Pf" and "Z 33 007 - B - Pf", respectively.
- This record is fully certified to be a very first, original German pressing of "Weltschmerz", released in late 1975.
