SHORT CROSS - ARISING - This is the real deal. What we have here is a near mint copy of a super rare rural hard rock classic. This was recorded in Richmond VA and I found it in Richmond VA. This is the 1st pressing gatefold LP on a tiny independent label Grizly of Richmond VA. The label is often misspelled in reference guides and websites as Grizzly. As you can see the label clearly is Grizly however the dead wax is hand marked Grizzly (talk about quality control). The wax numbers are S-16-013 A and B. The LP looks unplayed with only the slightest paper skuffs. The gatefold cover has no splits, marks, stubbs of any kind, but it has the tiniest hint of ringwear if you look close due to the primarily white cover. There is also a bit of dust staining on the top edge (it is not mold). It was in the garage of it's former owner for awhile. This LP was reviewed in the Acid Archives as a "Ballsy, pro-sounding early 1970's rural barrock-hard rock in an Allman bros direction with great guitar-organ interplay. OK vocals and a versatile keyboardist. Etc." You can go to the website for the full review. Band members are Velpo Robertson, Greg McCalley, Bird Sharp, and Butch Owens. I don't know, but I was told they were in their teens when they cut this LP. If so, it is even more amazing. Song list is Side 1 - Nothin but a Woman, Wastin Time, Suicide Blues, Just Don't Care. Side 2 - On My Own, Till We Reach the Sun, Ellen, and Hobo Love Song. If you like rare and NM (and who doesn't), you need this LP. Quick - before I come to my senses and keep it.
