Description
Shirley Collins and The Albion Country Band NO ROSES, 1976 lp, US reissue on Antilles Records, AN-7017.
Collins' involvement with the 60's American folk revival (accompanying Alan Lomax during a segment of his Southern States field recordings) informed her influence on pop music back in the UK. Traditional sounds were incorporated by practically every psych-fiend later on in the decade. Originally released in 1971, NO ROSES is Collins' earnest rendition of British heritage music, along with like-minded practitioners associated with Steeleye Span, Fairport Convention, and The Watersons.
CONSERVATIVE GRADING - I do not give grades higher than vg+ for anything that has been removed from its original packaging.
