One of the more popular recordings by Sheffield is this dramatic Excerpts from the Ballet, ROMEO and Juliet by Sergei Prokofiev, conducted by Eric Leinsdorf and performed by the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra.

Recorded Direct to the Master Disc (Direct Cut) at MGM Studios Culver City, California July 18th & 20th, 1977, this LIMITED EDITION includes a color 11x11 booklet, 8 pages of photos and info documenting history of this Ballet and Recording of its performance. (shown right)

WHAT IS A DIRECT TO DISC RECORDING? - Direct-to-disc recording refers to sound recording methods that bypass the use of magnetic tape recording and record audio directly onto analog disc masters. Direct-to-disc recording is results in a more accurate, less noisy recording through the elimination of up to four generations of master tapes, overdubs, and mix downs from multi-tracked masters bypassing problems inherent in analog recordings caused by tape hiss.

A NOTE ABOUT ME: I used to own and operate a high-end Audio Salon in the 80s/90s located in Pasadena, CA for over 12 years. We had a retail store, but were also a manufacturer of Ultra High-End Loudspeakers. I never lost my appetite for High Fidelity audio. UNLESS STATED, most of the audio equipment and music I sell comes from my personal collection or stuff I've purchased but never got around to using. I am pretty picky about what I own so if it was good enough for me, you'll most likely be ecstatic with your purchase. I don't like surprises when I buy things from auctions any more than you do. I promise everything I know about this item is in this description.

ABOUT THIS COPY: There is NOTHING more dynamic than a Direct to Disc Recording! As the owner of the business, I always snarfed a copy for myself to add to my collection, in the case of this title, more than one! This copy is brand new and has never been played although it is not sealed. I always remove the outer wrapping and the album in an acid-free jacket protector, and this one is no different. ONE LOOK AT will tell you the disc has never been out of it's jacket, which is just as pristine... I have one other copy available for a bit less but that one has been played and the jacket is not quite as nice.


Here is another of my RARE vinyl offerings! This is a fine collectible copy and will be shipped in a genuine record-mailer with plenty of packing, insured against loss or damage. I am listing more and more every day... with over 10,000 albums in my home, it would take me until the year 2099 to listen to them all. I'm now 71... don't think I'll make it so something's gotta give!
