RED BIRD 20-101 (US mono LP)

Bad-ass girls conquer girl-group genre with attitude and hairspray! They salute anti-social activity with musical melodrama, enriched with sound effects! The Shangri-las’ debut album is a schizoid classic. Side One is packed with atmospheric, swaggering studio recordings. Side Two captures the girls live in NYC, as they tuck into six recent “oldies” with fervor. Is there a cooler person alive than MARY WEISS? Scientists have yet to find the answer! In the meantime, here’s a boss version of this primal girl-group long-playa!

Condition:

JACKET: Light stress lines and minor corner stubs. Spine and both seams are fine. All text legible on spine. Back panel has small pen notation at upper right. No rubwear;  very slight ringwear to top center of both sides. Overall, this sleeve is a solid EX.

VINYL: It’s a pleasure to look at such a beautiful disc. Vinyl and labels are to die for! Aside from a little paper debris from the inner sleeve (easily cleaned off), and one fingerprint smoodge in the run-off grooves, I see no flaws. To be on the safe side, I’ll call it M-.
