Description
Up for auction/sale is a stunning, highly collectible 1970 original US first pressing of Simon & Garfunkel’s masterpiece, Bridge Over Troubled Water.
This copy features the historic, sought-after Columbia Red Label with White Arrows and White "360 SOUND" STEREO text at the bottom—a classic design retired by the label in late 1970.
Condition Breakdown:
- Vinyl (Media Grade): MINT / NEAR MINT The wax is absolutely pristine. It features a brilliant, flawless high-gloss mirror shine across the grooves with zero surface scuffs, hairlines, or scratches. Spindle hole is incredibly clean. For a highly dynamic, acoustic, and quiet folk-pop masterpiece like this, finding immaculate wax is rare. This copy will provide an exceptionally quiet, punchy, audiophile-grade listening experience.
- Jacket (Sleeve Grade): VERY GOOD (VG) The jacket is structurally solid with crisp edges and great overall color contrast. There is a light, clean vintage name written in ink on the front left side ("Burton"), adding some authentic 1970s character, along with very minor shelf wear. No major splits or ring ruin.
Matrix / Runout Identifiers:
- Side 1: Stamped XSM150685-1K with a faint 2 (Columbia Santa Maria pressing plant)
