This is the rare and sought after Japanese pressing of Johann Sebastian Bachs complete suites for unaccompanied cello, played by the world renowned Janos Starker. The label displays the distinctive 'HI-FI STEREO' insignia and has the earliest of grooved labels. The box which contains the 2 LPs is the early linen type and is in great condition, super clean and solid with just some slight deterioration to the writing on the spine, still has its original packing polystyrene sheets. The booklet contained within is near mint and is crisp and clean. Has both of the original inner sleeves which are also very clean and crisp.
The records themselves have beautiful clean surfaces with just a couple of odd smudges which certainly do not affect play. The records appear to have been very rarely played. To finish I will describe the playback which is outstanding. Superb standard of play as one would imagine, no crackle, just the lightest of background surface noise, certainly not above the normal amount for these antique records, hardly worth mentioning. The performance is breathtaking, unless I am very much mistaken you can actually hear Janos breathing during the performance, a real testament to the depth of sound.
Overall, a superb item in highly collectable condition, a serious collector of classical records simply must have this set in their collection. Please bid with confidence and note my faultless feedback. Thankyou for reading and good luck. Large pictures displayed below.

We use the standard grading system stated below for all our vinyl and try to be as honest as we can be about any flaws or imperfections. We play grade every single record however valuable it may be, so please do feel confident when buying.
All vinyl sent well protected using two corrugated cardboard stiffeners and the highest grade stiff brown cardboard.

Grading system
Mint: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
Excellent: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing
.Very good: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable
.Good: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.
Fair: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
Poor: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
Bad: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.
