Original Black Sleeve
Chris Thomas is miscredited as producer on both sides (was subsequently reissued correctly with Dave Goodman as the B Side producer).

Looks in good condition to me for its age – there is a light scratch (around 5mm) on the A side (see photo) but this doesn’t affect the sound quality which, again, to me seems fine (there are "pops/crackles" on the lead in & out grooves). The cover shows signs of wear & tear to the edges and you can see the shape of the record in the sleeve and the “black” has faded (see photos).

I’d probably rate it "Very Good" based on Record Collector’s grading system.

VG =Very Good, the record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite notable surface marks and the occasional light scratch.

Here's some additional information from a post on 45cat.com:
According to Brian Southalls book (and he should know since he was in charge of PR at EMI) the first run of this record (C. Thomas credited on both sides) was in total 15.000. 2.000 of these had the black cover bag, the rest company sleeves. Goodman threatened to go to court because he didn't get credit for ”I Wanna Be Me”, so the subsequent pressings had Goodman credited on the B-side and were pressed in an amount of 40.000 (according to McLaren) or 25.000 (according to EMI). You choose whom to believe. Some of these were withdrawn from the shops when the contract was terminated late 1976.
