Ezy Minus presenta Sergio Mandini e la sua chitarra
Italian pressing, Kronal MA 7281 (1971)
Top rare Italian library and an homemade\private project by the multitalented EZY MINUS (at flute, organ, piano and percussions) together with the inspired guitar player SERGIO MANDINI. The whole record is killer, flute playing is just insane, guitars are mental, bass is even more fat than any I Marc 4 record and the drummer is killing (either on jazz or funk tracks!).
You have three unbelievable modal jazz nuggets, the insane flute & fuzz guitar of POP IN 3 (with funky percussions break) and the two killer heavy bass laden tracks CLOSING and VALZER DELLE LAMPADINE (with amazing flute & guitar solos).
BOUND TO SOUTH is just a monster middle eastern heavy psychedelic funk with mental fuzz, mad buzz flute and ultra fat bass (killer bass break too). More incredible middle eastern psych fuzz funk madness on the insane ARABIAN POP and on the killer latin-esque CUBAN SHAKE.
Side A, focused on the Brazilian rhythm is superb too, with the fantastic bossa ASCOLTANDO BONFA', the classic Ezy Minus flute bossa BALTIC, the lounge bossa TRANQUILLITA' (actually an alternative version from Minus vocal group Lp), and the stellar male scat vocals of TROPICAL and more... listen!
