🎹 A Soulful Solo Piano Landmark – Strata-East, Remastered Audiophile Pressing 🎹

Musa: Ancestral Streams is the 1974 solo piano masterpiece by Stanley Cowell, co-founder of the iconic Strata-East Records. Performed entirely on acoustic piano, African thumb piano (kalimba), and mbira, it is a deeply personal and spiritual exploration—introspective, elegant, and richly textured.

This Pure Pleasure reissue is pressed on 180g vinyl at Pallas and remastered by Ray Staff at Air Studios, ensuring warmth, clarity, and authentic analogue presence.

🎵 Highlights include:

  • “Maimoun” – tender, modal elegance

  • “Abscretions” – abstract and exploratory

  • “Travelin’ Man” – a lyrical standout

  • “Emil Danenberg” – dedicated and intimate solo expression

🎧 For fans of:

  • Strata-East, Black Jazz, ECM

  • Thelonious Monk, Andrew Hill, Horace Tapscott
