Description
I feel the need to repeat all the details above. This is Mercy Dee Walton's "Pity and a Shame" from 1961, released on Prestige Bluesville (BV 1039) ... and it is SEALED! This is not a repress. This is the first press. This is the ONLY press. Possibly the scarcest, rarest of all Bluesville releases. Sealed! And not just sealed, but man, COMPLETELY sealed, and everything inside the shrinkwrap is gorgeous-SPOTLESS-clean, like it just came from the factory.
I normally grade conservative, and even down-grade. But not this time.
This cover is confidently graded MINT, and this vinyl is confidently graded MINT.
BACKSTORY: I got this from its sole original owner, who maintained it unopened in an indoor, temperature controlled setting for DECADES. It didn't get boxed up and stuffed in the garage. It was preserved and cared for. Check out all my pics, including an image of the sealed profile ... razor-flat and tight, ain't it?
