"The Beatles - The Collection" MFSL LP box set

in factory sealed original shipping carton - No Reserve!

This is the second of my two rare sealed copies of Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab's 1982 numbered limited-edition audiophile release of 13 original Beatles British stereo albums, pressed in Japan on virgin JVC Super Vinyl.

These LPs were mastered in the USA by the legendary Stan Ricker from the UK analog stereo album master tapes - the same ones that were used by EMI to cut the original British stereo releases of these albums.

The set consists of a hinged collector's box containing the 14 LPs, an art book containing full-size album cover reproductions and a hand-numbered Certificate of Authenticity, and a Geo-Disk phono cartridge alignment tool. Instead of the traditional covers, each LP jacket has photographs of the master tapes that were used to cut that album.

The albums included in the set are: Please Please Me, With The Beatles, A Hard Day's Night, Beatles For Sale, Help!, Rubber Soul, Revolver, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, The Beatles (White Album), Yellow Submarine, Abbey Road, Magical Mystery Tour, and Let It Be.

This box was purchased new by me in 1983. The shipping carton is still sealed with the original MFSL logo factory tape. This carton will be packed inside a larger box for shipping to the winning bidder.

(Description and photos updated 7/16/10) As shown in the third photo, the original shipping box has a shallow dent with a break on one side, and the cardboard is torn.  Since there were some questions about the dent, I carefully turned back the edges of the break and took an additional photo.  Fortunately, one of the large styrofoam packing frames that cushions the contents of the box is directly behind the dent and is visible in the new photo, so the inner record box remains protected.

Compare my price on this sealed set with other eBay sellers, some of whom are asking more than twice as much for the same set!
