This is an early U.S. pressing on the green & orange Atlantic label, issued shortly after the band’s debut In the Court of the Crimson King. The cover art by Tammo De Jongh (illustrations of mythic archetypes) was retained from the UK edition and printed by Modern Album, Hauppauge, N.Y.

💎 CONDITION VINYL: Presumed MINT (unplayed) COVER: Factory-sealed, never opened (Minor shrink tears and light corner stress at upper right, but no splits, dents, or discoloration.) 🧾 NOTES FOR COLLECTORS-
Authentic first Atlantic U.S. shrink with rectangular white hype sticker (not found on later Polydor or EG editions).
-
Early print spine shows clean, centered serif type: “KING CRIMSON / IN THE WAKE OF POSEIDON / ATLANTIC SD 8266”.
-
Original art wraparound colors (deep purples, greens, and golds) still vibrant under shrink.
-
Factory seal pattern and paper texture indicate early 1970s U.S. pressing, not later rewrap.

-
ST-A-701975-A / ST-A-701976-A
Pressed at Monarch (MO), Presswell (PR), or Richmond (RI) depending on plant.
