Description

"©1971 ABC Records" on the back cover, but since it is sealed, I have no way of knowing for sure which pressing it is. It is sold "as is." I bought this in the 1970s. See more about my sealed Vintage Jazz Lps below.

Personnel in addition to John Coltrane (Saxophone)- McCoy Tyner (Piano), Jimmy Garrison (Bass), Elvin Jones (Drums).

I note an oval shape near the lower right corner of the front cover (see Pic 3). I do not know what this is. Interestingly, the shrink wrap is unaffected by this and does not show a similar impression. On the other albums I have with a similar marking, it does not go through to the gatefold inside or the back. This was purchased at a Sam Goody's store, as is evidenced by the lower rear cover sticker (on the shrink wrap). As was their custom, when I bought this, the slit the lower right rear corner with a blade and wrote the price paid with a pen. Apparently, the cashier tried to cut the corner but only made a small hole in the shrink wrap. Then he or she wrote it on the shrink wrap. See pics. I also note some scuffing on the shrink wrap. With gatefold.

About my Sealed Lps- Blue Note & Impulse! have changed hands numerous times over the years. When I began noticing copies of artists I love on either label disappearing from store shelves, I began buying duplicate (Sealed/New) copies so I’d have a backup in case they didn’t return to print. I still have most of those duplicate, Sealed copies, and after years of agonizing about parting with them, I have decided to offer some of them here!

Given that stocks of some of the original Blue Note & Impulse! covers were apparently left over and transferred to the new owners, who then used them with new pressings, it’s often impossible to tell which exactly pressing is inside. Therefore, since I bought these between 1970 and 1984 I’m guessing they are the contemporary pressing. Also, many of my open copies are of the contemporary pressing, so I’m pricing them as if they are, too. Of course, they could be an older or different pressing. I just don’t know.

About my Vintage Vinyl- Every record I sell is part of my personal collection of 1,700 Jazz and 500 Classical albums carefully compiled over 30 years (between the late 1960’s through the 1990’s). Countless hours were spent scouring record stores, mostly in NYC, but also in South Florida. Sadly they’re all gone now. Most were bought new and have had 1 owner to date.

Bookmark my page- Additional records are being added almost daily.

All records are visually graded. With so many records on hand, most saw few, if any plays. They have all been kept in a smoke & pet free climate controlled environment. I haven't cleaned them, preferring to leave that choice up to their new owner. Everything I sell is absolutely genuine in all respects. We never sell copies, knockoffs or counterfeits, nor do we reseal anything. Please ask all questions before bidding. This is a final sale.

$6 Shipping to the USA. COMBINED SHIPPING in the USA add $1 each for multiple Lps (3, maybe 4, depending on size, will fit) purchased at the same time. USPS Mail to the rest of the world. (International customers- Please note- customs, etc., are the buyer's responsibility, which is eBay's policy.)
