Sealed and mint copy of the original 1959 pressing of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir’s famous recording of HANDEL’S Messiah, conducted by Eugene Ormandy and featuring soloist Eileen Farrell, on Columbia stereo M2S-607. This is the recording that really cemented the Messiah as a Christmas staple. And a perfectly mint copy, sealed and untouched! I am calling it a 1959 first pressing but it is a little hard to say for sure without opening it. It could be the 1966 pressing, but definitely not later. I believe it is a 1959 6-eye copy because it is extra heavy and the artwork goes very close to the top of the cover. Most of the copies of the 1966 pressing I have seen have a little white space at the top. Just a tiny bit more. The 2-eye 1966 pressing is also heavy vinyl but not as heavy as the 6-eye 1959 pressing, and this one feels quite heavy and thick. Anyhow it’s either a first or second pressing and it is perfectly mint inside and out, except just a tiny bit of light corner wear, mainly at the lower left, but barely any at all. Really a top top copy. Impossible to beat.
