Description

Mint SEALED Perfect / Derek and the Dominos “LAYLA”

SUPER DISK HALF-SPEED MASTERED / 2-Lp Audiophile Vinyl

Brand new, never played, never opened special Audiophile vinyl issue of the classic 1972 double-album set by Derek and the Dominos (Eric Clapton, Duane Allman, Bobby Whitlock, Jim Gordon & Carl Radle), featuring the all-time smash hit “Layla” as well as “Bell Bottom Blues”, “I Looked Away”, “Why Does Love Got To Be So Sad?”, and ten others.  Issued by Direct Disk Labs in 1984, this “Super Disk” is pressed on “super quiet” virgin vinyl and mastered at half-speed, creating an extremely accurate cut in the vinyl grooves to emulate the original analog master recording with precision immediately audible to any pair of ears.  NOTE: The “loose baggie” style of shrinkwrap was utilized by all four Audiophile vinyl companies to avoid stressing the records and causing warpage; this copy is still sealed in its original shrinkwrap, with the yellow/black “Layla” sticker and original price tags affixed on the exterior.  (The bright spot at the top center of the pic is from the camera flash reflection and is not actually on the album cover!)

CONDITION - Cover: A / Vinyl: mint, sealed, assumed A+

Please note: I am not a dealer; this comes from my personal collection.

SHIPPING -

I will ship this set well-packed by USPS Media Mail for $3.00. Contact me for shipping rates outside the USA.  I prefer PayPal for the winning bidder’s payment but will accept check or money order. I do combine & reduce shipping costs for multiple auctions won.

(NOTE: “camrincat@yahoo.com” is my free “Personal” PayPal account, and I can accept PayPal payments from a PayPal account balance or from an associated bank account set up to pay thru PayPal.  However, if paying through credit card or debit card-based PayPal, please alert me before paying because I will need to route your payment through my un-free “Premiere” PayPal account [appollo_records@yahoo.com]. It’s their complex trip, not mine, but I do apologize for the complexity of it all…)

ABOUT GRADING -

I don’t like having stuff returned so I tend to grade conservatively. For some reason I use the traditional teacher’s scale of A-F.  I grade a record’s condition first visually, then by carefully spot-playing each track (if the record’s not still sealed of course) in at least two places, using a new needle and a balanced audiophile turntable. I try to note any obvious problems with the condition of the cover or vinyl record (or any other part of the product) in my description.  I do try to get the dust specks off with an anti-static record-cleaning cloth if needed, but I never use liquid cleaners and actually prefer to leave any extreme cleaning to the buyer, since audiophiles tend to be picky with their differing ways.  I use anti-static “rice paper” inner sleeves and plastic slip cases for all my records.  As you can see by my eBay feedback score, my buyers have been pretty happy with the stuff I’ve sold and how well I pack it so it gets to you without damage in transit.

RETURN POLICY -

Occasionally someone might disagree with my subjective assessment of a record’s condition so if necessary I will gladly refund the original purchase price (including shipping) – just ship the record back to me in its sturdy container.  Bid with confidence, as they say…
