VISUAL GRADING, USING STRONG INCANDESCENT LIGHTING:
M (Mint): new or sealed. NM: close to perfect, possibly a very faint mark or sleeve shadow. VG++ (same as "excellent"): May have several very faint hairline marks or other faint marks and/or heavier sleeve shadows, with near-new gloss. VG+: more/longer hairlines or light surface marks, nice gloss. VG: more visible light surface scratch marks, loss of gloss, a mark which may be felt.  VG-: Heavier surface marks, some surface scratches which can be felt, but no deep gouges. Record has received less care in handling. G: Heavy wear, heavy swirls/hairlines, feelable scratches, lack of gloss, not handled carefully.
