Description
PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so. Thank you for your interest and support. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ SHIPPING: USA ~ 1 LP $4.00 Media; 2-4 discs $5.00; .50 each additional disc Priority rates vary by area; please inquire. 1971 BRITISH PROGRESSIVE JAZZROCK SUPER RARITY
BEN
\ Europe - AK - 247
SCARCE ...long gone very limited 2ndpress in triple thick cover that is near to surpass the first press in "quality" ... this British group, BEN issued one of the rarest progressive albums = copies are impossible to find and valued a small fortune ... here, a brillant sounding rareexact issue as noted with above high end quality ... hard to find from around 10 yers ago, but no wear near the "rarity level" of the 1971 first press ...
- Peter Davey (Alto, Tenor, Soprano and Baritone Sax, Flute and Clarinet) - Alex Macleery (Electric Piano, Harpsichord and Moog Synthesiser) - Gerry Reid (Electric and Acoustic Guitars) - Len Surtees (Bass) - David Sheen (Drums, Congas, Percussion and Vocals) Ben's legendary self-titled debut, originally released in 1971, is one of the rarest of all Vertigo label albums, and is beautifully executed throughout, led by guitarist Gerry Reid and saxist Peter Davey. The album maintains a delicate balance between jazz and progressive rock, and the musical ability of each musician is apparent in each track. The Lp was released in 1971 but went right past most progressive rock fans back then, but is in fact a classic slab of progressive jazz rock with above average instrumental ability. Long tracks with a concept based on "growing up". Ranks alongside Dr Z as a lost prog monster. BEN has tendencies along the lines of the most famous jazz-rock bands such as NUCLEUS and SOFT MACHINE. With 4 long tracks (the first one "The Influence" is a side long suite divided in 7 movements) with lots of flute, keyboards, sax and guitars.Side 1 "The Influence" 10:05 - The Wooing of the child - The innocence of the child - The Interest of the youth - The Involvement of the man - The Realization - The Wooing of the man - The Conclusion "Gibbon" 9:32 Side 2 "Christmas Execution" 7:21 "Gismo" 11:50
