The very first 1968 NAZZ album has been exceedingly scarce in last couple of years especially in collectible shape. The gatefold cover is one of the most wear-prone ...most of you know how hard it is to find a clean cover = here's a survivor!
ORIGINAL 1968 first pressing vinyl in old style unipak gatefold cover of the very first NAZZ Lp that features young Todd Rundgren and gis garage psych crew from Philadelphia featuring the stunning fuzzed psych nugget "OPEN MY EYES" + more similar....
Nazz, is a wonderfully adept collage, featuring the beginnings of the Todd Rundgren "wall of sound" effect. The sound evident on this 1967 album is strangely similar to that of 1970's pop and hard rock bands. This comes as no surprise, because it was from this band that pop superstar Todd Rundgren emerged. If you don't know what to expect from a band named for the B-Side of a Yardbirds single, "The Nazz are Blue" .....With the heavy energy of Cream, the gorgeous harmonies of the Beach Boys, topped off with the emerging songwriting talents of young - Todd Rundgren - Nazz sonically journeyed where few other rock bands dared to go back then. Searing rockers (Open My Eyes, The Lemming Song, Wildwood Blues, She's Going Down) perfectly coexisted with beautiful, harmony-drenched ballads (Hello It's Me, If That's The Way You Feel, Crowded) making Nazz quite an enigma among all the political, drugged-out, blues-based rock music of 1968.

CONDITION: The cover: rated: VG++ slight wear at top front center, otherwise clean style unipak gatefold ...overall nothing bad here for a dark cover like this - almost impossible to find the 51 year old cover THIS clean ~ back cover is clean near M- and insides the gatefold dazzling group photo is M- ...all said the cover is very stiff and solid with a very tiny delet mark at bottom right, There are no split seams, no bends, no writing and looks fine as a collection keeper....
The vinyl: Rated: clean, very shiny both sides, M- plays nice and enjoyable without interference! Both SGC labels are clean A cool addition to anyone's music library!
