Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. Original 1987 first pressing includes the photo/lyrics double sided inner sleeve
First rate album all around. Sodom kept small traces of their previous first-wave black/thrash sound (tremolo riffs play a surprising part of this record) but largely moved into the style that defined them for the rest of their career.Sodom's greatest strength as a band, especially on this record, is how they could build up tension and explosively release it via their infamous thrash breaks. "Nuclear Winter" is basically the archtypical example of that, and it sets the tone of the record immediately. Sodom really came up strongest when they built the songs up both overtly and subtly. It helps they also crafted some killer riffs throughout the album, some of the most memorable in all of thrash. This album also showed them expanded a bit on their Motorhead influence, both the cover and "Bombenhagel" (one of the best closing tracks out there) and it adds some variety that, in the context of the album, fits well.
Expurse... is a bit closer to their earlier black metal stuff than the album proper, and might be their best effort too. It comes off as darker than the album proper and it showcased Sodom's songwriting at its absolute peak - the aforementioned "Sodomy And Lust", with its slightly off-kilter main riff that gets built upon and the sense of impending doom it has makes it their finest moment. "My Atonement" is their most atmospheric and sinister song, while "The Conqueror" is just a punishing thrasher from start to finish. Altogether, they're both fantastic releases and Sodom was one of the finest in metal during their better years.
