This Auction is for The Lp - Ravel - The complete orchestral works of Maurice Ravel Vol 4 - Paris Conservatoire Orchestra Conducted by Andre Cluytens.

1963 Blue/Silver Label Stereo Pressing on the Columbia Records Label - SAX 2479.

Side 1: Le Tombeau de couperin, Menuet Antique. 

Side 2: Alborada Del Grasioso, Une Barque Sur L'Ocean, Pavane Pour Une Infante Defunte. 

Vinyl - Vg+ / Ex- : The surface has a lovely sheen with no obvious surface marks etc  and the record looks as though it has been barely played, However near the start of Side 2 a second or so of brief surface noise was heard followed by 9 or 10 consecutive clicks, with a further 9 or 10 clicks also being heard a minute or so later, I believe tiny little indentations in the vinyl caused at the pressing stage are possibly responsible for this as there are no obvious surface marks on the record in the area affected, visually the record surface is Excellent but for the reasons stated above I have graded it as Vg+.

Other than the defect stated above It plays with a lovely Deep Rich Stereo sound and Plays excellent throughout with only some occasional light static crackle, small ticks and a couple of pops heard in places which I find is common on pressings of this age.(even when the playing surfaces are still in as excellent a condition as this one), it detracts very little from the excellent sound and enjoyment of the record, nothing major - no skips, jumps etc.

Sleeve - Ex- - Provided in the Original Sleeve as pictured which has some age related wear although nothing major, some small edge wear to rear of sleeve as can be seen in the pics.

Excellent: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening of sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.
