SAX 2394 B/S – RAVEL PIANO CONCERTOS - FRANCOIS
1960 Columbia stereo catalogue number SAX 2394 with blue/silver label. Samson Francois playing Ravel’s Piano Concerto in G minor & piano concerto in D major for the left hand with Andre Cluytens conducting the Paris Conservatoire Orchestra.
The disc has a "Factory Sample – Not For Sale" sticker on the label on side 2. Side 1 has a small faint inaudible mark. Side 2 (the L.H. concerto) has 4 visible scratches; audibly these produce 7/8 random faint ticks during the first half of the recording and 9 ticks on consecutive rotations towards the end. Overall both sides are clean and shiny. The sleeve is intact but has moderate creasing and edge wear and some discolouration on rear.
A perfect copy of this record is a very expensive rarity but this may be your chance to acquire this true collector’s item for a reasonable price.
