SAX 2388 blue/silver – IGOR OISTRAKH / GINZBURG – BRAHMS: SONATAS
1961 Columbia stereo recording on blue/silver label catalogue number SAX 2388. Igor Oistrakh (violin) and Anton Ginzburg (piano) play Sonata No.1 in G, Op.78 and Sonata No.2 in A, Op.100 by Brahms.
The disc has occasional light marks, no serious scratches. Side 1 has about 50 ticks, mostly very light but 5 loud ones. Side 2 has 1 loud tick and about 20 light ones. Definitely not a perfect copy but still hugely enjoyable. Sleeve is scuffed on corners/edges with a 3cm split at bottom; rear is grubby and discoloured.
