Description
This is my near perfect (vinyl) copy of SAVOY BROWN's 'A STEP FURTHER' on UK DECCA - LK5013 - Red Un-boxed Decca labels, Mono. The record has 100% perfect audio. The problem area with this record is always the almost silent beginning to Side 1's 'Life's A One Act Play' and on this fantastic copy all you get is the guitar, Chris Youlden's voice (did he ever sing anything better than this blues?!) and no noise and crackle! It is just the tinniest degree from a perfect 'off the shelf' copy and this vinyl shows little sign of being played! The sleeve is in good general condition with a fully readable spine. On the front cover, here is the usual Decca laminate lift close to the spine and a crease at the bottom l/h corner. The nature of the sleeve's image (dense greenery) makes it hard to see these defects unless you hold it against the light at certain angles and there is none of the usual laminate creasing at the record opening. The white card rear sleeve is still white and generally clean and tidy. This first pressing has the Mono / Stereo cut-out hole and through this you can see the original red Decca mono inner sleeve. Great original UK MONO copy
