SARAH VAUGHAN BILLY & SARAH LP (Lion 70088). SARAH VAUGHAN'S PERSONAL COPY of this jazz vocal signature collection of songs by two of the most prolific singers of the late 1940’s, the 1950’s and 1960’s. Sarah , known as “The Divine One” ruled the jazz charts, and found crossover chart success with a countless number of legendary recordings. Billy Eckstine and Sarah recorded many songs together with “Passing Strangers” (1957) as perhaps their most well-known.  Sarah and Billy had a very close friendship; here is an appealing piece of evidence as, along with this album, we include her very own framed photo of her very own album propped up on the keys of her very own piano. (In a black trim frame against dark gray matting measuring 14 ¼” x 15”) Sarah was awarded Grammy’s Lifetime Achievement Award in 1989. Billy, aka "Mr. B." was hugely successful developing the bebop genre and is mainly known for his musical collaborations with jazz legends Charlie Parker, Dizzy Gillespie and Miles Davis among others. On this record, tracks include “I Can’t Get Started,” “You’re All I Need” and “Dedicated To You” with twelve songs in total.  An astounding, intimate collectible for the passionate fan of "The Divine One."
