SANDIE SHAW - "PUPPET ON A STRING” …LP…(Astor, SPLP-1210)…original 1967 Australian FIRST STEREO PRESSING...matte flip-black cover, with light blue 'STEREO' stickers on front and back covers (exactly as first released), and with 'modified' stereo catalogue number on the back 

...her third Australian album...

…12 tracks, so many of them absolute classics...TELL THE BOYS, PUPPET.., HIDE ALL EMOTION, HAD A DREAM LAST NIGHT, STOP BEFORE YOU START, THINK SOMETIMES ABOUT ME

…but what really defines this as being close to unique (these days), is that the record is completely MINT (has a wispy 'design' on the vinyl from remaining untouched within its original plastic inner sleeve - I played it to check, and it plays perfectly as new - MINT)…and the cover is amazing too…let’s say, if graded out of 100, the cover would get a 96…has the very light beginnings of ringwear at the top, a small stain near the 'U' of 'PUPPET' in the title there, and a tiny 'spot' stain on the top flap on the back...and that's all...

Regardless, I doubt there exists an original Aussie copy that has survived 51+ years, in much better condition.

It's part of a HUGE collection of an ex-Aussie radio station big-wig (nice guy) who was given TWO promotional copies of every release (LP, 7”, 12”), by every Australian major label between 1956 and 1991 (the mind boggles - but it's true), and he stashed one away, never to be played, protected individually in non-vinyl-affecting plastic covers. 

So, this is indeed, an original 1967 FIRST pressing. The vinyl is simply beautiful - was unplayed until I tested it, and the labels are pristine. 

Even its original plastic inner sleeve looks untouched.

Basically, it's the kind of copy you dream of finding.
