One of the hardest-to-find discs on the TAS list, this is indeed the stuff of Gold Label Audiophile AP-80, featuring The Salt City Six, but re-mastered by Athena from the original tapes, then pressed on heavy vinyl.
Athena Masters are all-tube analog recordings mastered by Doug Sax at R.T.I. No expense has been spared to recreate the intended original sound of these master works. All Athena releases come with credits for the recording and creation of the package as well as "Hi-Fi Facts" which further assist you in the enjoyment of the record. These releases were made in very limited quantity and are considered very collectable today.
Athena releases come with a protective heavy inner sleeve that often has notes about the release.

Record cover has just a hint of wear that prevents me from calling it Near Mint. Bottom right corner is stubbed. Protective heavy cardboard inner sleeve with photos, bios and credits is as new. There are no spindle marks on the label. Vinyl looks like new and plays beautifully.

Review: An original Ewing Nunn recording utilizing custom made microphones and mic pre-amps, all keenly applied by one of the finest recordists of the last century, if not the best. Don't just Expect Dixieland from this album... as the six man ensemble are going to deliver "The William Tell Overture," "Granada," "El Capitan" (which is great!)... so pure... so New Orleans! This way-fun album is unquestionably a classic in vinyl literature, and this, I dare say, is its finest incarnation!
