Royal Ballet Gala Performances - Ansermet - LD 6065 - RCA Soria
This is the ORIGINAL MONO version of the legendary RCA Soria Series - Ernest Ansermet - Royal Ballet . Canadian Pressing.
The charming liner-note book was printed in Italy by Amilcare Pizzi, S.p.A. The black-and- white reproductions of Houston Rogers photos include ballet stars of the past Margot Fonteyn, Michael Somes, Nadia Nerina, David Blair, Beryl Grey, and Svetlana Beriosova. (Alexis Rassine’s photo is by another photographer.) There are also colour reproductions of costume-design sketches from the various ballets the scores of which are excerpted. The "program" half-page-sized flyer is present. Original RCA Sleeves.
The records have no scratches on them and are clean looking. In quite spots you can sometimes hear a bit of crackle. Over all they play very well. No skips. Tested on a high-end system.
Box is in solid shape with wooden dowel. Gold script on the side.
There are some small minor spots on front & back but really nothing.
This was cleaned on a VPI Machine.
