Description
Selected titles from the private collection of a music business veteran are now being made available for the first time. Titles offered by this Seller are one-owner and came directly from the pressing plant, record company warehouse, other label reps or record store unless otherwise noted.
Grading is based on visual inspection.
Album ships in a 2 MIL poly cover sleeve.
I package records outside the cover to avoid seam splits.
- It wasn't easy getting the Seller to part with this one. "Only The Lonely" was a seminal song and single in his life. What a voice, what a sound, what a song, what a time it was in 1961 in the heart of the Midwest only a few miles from where James dean was born, raised and buried.
- This is the Big O's first album for Monument. It includes 3 of his greatest hits. Timeless songs, vocals and production...54 years later.
- This is a First Pressing of the original Mono recording.
- The matrix runouts end in 1A & 1A.
- This is on very thick vinyl with the original Monument label.
- This is another item where I had a difficult time determining if there were spindle marks. I think there is one on each side.
- The playing surfaces are very clean.
- The glossy paper on board cover has tight seams and shows some shelf wear at the top of the front and back. There is a 1" seam split at the top opening edge.
- The original solid white inner sleeve has yellowed around the edges. I have included a plastic-lined rice paper inner sleeve.
- The Seller acquired this new in the sixties. It has been in storage for at least 50 years.
All tracks composed by Roy Orbison and Joe Melson, except where indicated.
