Description
Roy Orbison: 2 x original E.P.s
It’s Over: London Monument; RE-U 1435, 1964
Oh, Pretty Woman: London Monument; RE-U 1437, 1964
I’ve decided to sell these two EPs together because they were almost certainly bought together in 1964 and have never been separated since! I think the EPs were probably released on the same day too. They have the same sleeve design and the same sleeve notes, and the catalogue numbers are only one digit different (in case you are interested, the rare Terry Stafford E.P., Suspicion, was RE-U 1436).
These are very good condition examples of this pair of EPs. Track listings and individual descriptions are as follows:
It’s Over:
1. It’s Over; 2. Borne On The Wind; 3. Blue Bayou; 4. Mean Woman Blues.Slightly the less good of the two. Both have only faint surface marks but this has the more. There is a little light crackling in the quieter passages but the fact that the record is only lightly marked makes me think this is static as much as anything. The labels are nice and clean as you can see. The sleeve is extremely straight, clean and undamaged. It’s as nice a sleeve really as you are ever likely to see on an E.P. that is almost sixty years old. The original inner sleeve is still present.
Oh Pretty Woman:
1. Oh, Pretty Woman; 2. Yo Te Amo Maria; 3. Dream Baby; 4. Candy Man.
Again, only faint surface marks and fewer of them than the E.P. described above. Plays very nicely. Labels are nice and clean. The sleeve is broadly in similarly nice condition to It’s Over described above but there is a crease to the top right corner (visible in images above). The inner sleeve is missing.
Rather pleasingly, both sleeves have their original retailer’s shop sticker from Landau’s of Sutton in Surrey.
I am also listing two Roy Orbison singles on eBay at the moment. Click on See Other Items above if you would like to view them. Combined postage for all four records would be £3.00 within the UK (combined postage is also available for overseas buyers but I will work that out at the end).
UK Postage and packing: £2.80.
International postage and packing: Click on the “Postage and Payments” tab above to see prices to overseas destinations.
All postage prices quoted (UK and international) are maximum charges. If postage and packing costs less than these estimates, I will refund the difference after posting (subject to the difference being £1.00 or more. Unless otherwise indicated, the postage prices I give in the listing are for a tracked and signed-for service, as required by eBay. If however, winning buyers would prefer cheaper options, I am always happy to help with that if I can. Please contact me for a quote.
I hope this description has given you enough to go on but should you require any further information, or more images, please do e-mail. Please also look carefully at the hi-res photos – they are part of the description. Thanks for your interest in this auction and good luck if you decide to bid.
Please note: I will not respond to requests to close the auction early regardless of the value of the offer made. Ending early is contrary to both the principle and spirit of an auction. It is also unfair to other eBayers who may be watching the auction intending to bid at a later time.
