I am happy to combine postage, but insist on fully insured postage at the cost of the winning bidder, therefore, if you are at all unsure of these costs, please contact me first! Many thanks! August is a big month for River.Dog Records as I sell a fair chunk of some of my rarest records, starting this week, there will be some big hitters of loads of genres, PROG, PSYCH, BEAT, FOLK etc. etc. etc. Today there are such records of Legendary rarity as DOGFEET, some mid hitters too, like Vertigo swirl rarity Dr Strangely Strange's Heavy Petting (mislabelled version!), some very limited and highly sought after private presses, such as the extremely elusive (and lovely) TICKAWINDA, there will be Psych/Freakbeat rarities covered next week with such items as the extremely rare Yardbirds German EP Heart Full Of Soul, The Eyes UK single Man With Money, unheard of UK pressings of Linda Van Dyck (Seduction Song), to my knowledge NEVER released in the UK, and never documented, but there's a UK demo "A" copy (on Gemini Records) going to show it's self this month! And other undocumented demo UK psych 7"s such as, did you ever wish The Crystal Mansion pressed their often talked about track "The Thought Of Loving You" in the UK... well, another original yet to my knowledge undocumented, "A" label demo coming up this month! Plus where would record collecting of the 50s/60s/70s be without some extremely rare Beatles pressings thrown in for good measure,SOLID CENTRES of early UK singles, to my knowledge undocumented overseas presses (has anyone seen a South Rhodesian "Ain't She Sweet", with scroll Polydor labels and a tri-centre? I could be wrong, but I certainly never have caught wind of it on any forums!), Gold Label, Red Labels, Box Set, etc... And some surprises thrown in! I have already have started to list some of the real rarities... so check out my other items! To make sure you don't miss anything over this month (and indeed future months- we haven't even touched on Soul and Ska in the above list!), please be sure to add me to your favourites list! Although some of the grades of these items this week sound high, I hope you can believe that I know what I'm talking about, as this is most of the cream of my PROG/PROGRESSIVE-PSYCH FOLK LP crop, please refer to my feedback if you are at all unsure about my grading "pedigree!" please refer to my previous feedback comments, each year I have a bit of a clear out, (though this year I'm doing more major titles than previous years!, this year, as with every other year, I have only had positive feedback (I have NEVER had a negative comment either publicly or privately about my grading), the only grading related comments I get (both privately and publicly on my feedback) are telling me my grading is too far under what it should be, I have tried to take this on-board, but I always want customers to be completely satisfied. But please check my previous feedback (from the past few months and previous years), and judge for yourself! I don't like the idea (though it has never happened to me) of people asking for partial money back etc, so if you find anything amiss with my descriptions then I will offer full bid price back (upon return of the item in the condition I sent it in- I fully record all LPs before listing them for my digital collection!), though to avoid time wasters I will put the proviso in that I will not pay for postage unless there is a definite mistake in my listing… I really hope that all sounds reasonable! Many thanks! And Happy Bidding!
Here we have a very young Roy Harper's second UK album IN ORIGINAL AND LONG DELETED MONO!!! Before we go any further I just want to say how wonderful this disc's condition is! An EX- condition A side and an only slightly weaker B side, really great audio! Also this has interesting labels (also in incredible condition!) they are the textured labels, with smooth edges, but the smooth edge of side 1 is about 8mm, whilst the side 2 smooth edges are about 16mm! More or less double!... OK On with the listing! From the Psychedelic haze of 1967, this pressing is the very first A1/B1, textured centre style labels of CBS, oh and did I mention it's MONO! …just checking! (BPG 63184). I got this from the same collection as the Pink Floyd's Obscured By Clouds Factory Demo and some of the other items up this week, this collection was really nicely looked after!
The Sleeve: VG+, a generally really nice sleeve with one or two defects, very nearly no wear along the top and bottom edges, with just a little feathering to the very most right 1cm of the bottom edge, and less than 1" of the top edge. The glue to the most right few inches of the bottom seam, has failed, though this parting hasn't damaged the cardboard. The spine, never laminated, as usual shows a little wear, though less than most copies that come up, and still fairly legible, though the serial number is hard to make out entirely, as is "Ghengis", and the beginning of "Harper", but really, this is still very strong for this sleeve! The non-laminated back sleeve has very light disc wear, a small (sticker?) print rip at about 1 o'clock just right of Roy's head, very small, but check the photos for yourself! Lastly, as with some of the other LPs from this collection, the previous owner has written his name neatly beneath the "Album conceived…" text in the top left corner. The Inner Condition: VG+, still in the original CBS company inner it came into my possession in (I haven't upgraded it, so's to give you an idea of the freshness of this LP), No wear-throughs, though there is very nearly one, to the far right edge (half way up, where a wear-through might be!), a very little age discolouration, very little rub wear along the right edge, top opening mouth great! 2 very small nicks, one about 2/3s the way up the right hand edge, about 5mm, and the other on the back to the far right bottom corner, about 3mm. As always I'm probably being over critical, but at least you know exactly what you're bidding on! Ja! Record Condition: EX-, the A side is a good sturdy EX- with literally only a handful of surface marks/hairlines, and one slightly deeper (but very small) mark in the final track, which causes 5 tick, apart from that the audio is superb, the B side has some broader visual surface rubs (though completely surface, not at all deep), about 7 or 8, various lengths, so this looks VG+, but again plays BEAUTIFULLY (even in the spoken drop downs!) as they are only on the very surface. Labels: EX-, both real stand-up examples, with no stains/writing, fading, rips, fingerprints etc. etc. etc! Just a few of the very lightest spindle rubs around the centre holes, only visible when angled into strong direct light, and very faint even then. These are the textured labels, with a smooth rim, but interestingly side 1 has a 8mm smooth rim, whilst side 2 has double that, about 16mm smooth rim! These really are incredible labels!
