Description
Selling-up my extensive record collection. Lots of interesting records in the collection - do have a look at my other items, and there are new listings every week. I may have obscure things that you didn't even know you wanted!
Suffering a touch of listing-fatigue, I'm going to bundle-up my remaining four Roxy albums in one lot - all playable, some excellent, all UK first issue, nice covers.
Pictures are my own photos of the items for sale. Photos are part of the description, have a good look.
Roxy Music - first album. UK first issue. Cover - laminated inside and out, gatefold. Very good, original blue Island inner sleeve is included. Record - side one has some light scratches and marks, side two has a FEW light scratches and marks.
Country Life - UK first issue. Cover - Laminated, very good. Lyric inner is included. Record - is quite good, but on side one, streaky marks on track 1, two light scratches on tracks 2 and 3, and a light scratch running from track 2 to track 5. On side two, some streaky marks on track 2, two scratches along the grooves on track 5, two scuffs with light scratches in them, and two light scratches on tracks 3 and 4.
For Your Pleasure - UK first issue. Cover - laminated gatefold sleeve, good condition, some creases and a sticker removal on back has left a small hole in the surface. Some ring-wear. Record - Side one looks in excellent condition. On side two, track 1, a small group of tiny impacts, and another string / row of tiny impacts. Lightest-kind-of scratch on track 2, and a tiny mark on track 3.
Siren - UK first issue, I bought this when it came out - having seen them play some of the songs just before album's release, in London. Cover - is good, some ring-wear. Black Island inner, may well be original. Record - Generally excellent, there's a light fingernail mark on side one track 3, and on side two there is a light scratch along the grooves on track 1.
When I'm checking for damage on records, I look at them carefully with my reading glasses on, in good daylight. This method detects any bits of damage that will affect what you hear when listening to it - and lots that are not audible. Using a spotlight or direct sunlight shows more surfacey marks sometimes, but I don't do that - records are for listening to, not trying to see your face in.
I do my best for my customers, on postal costs. You can send at least six LPs for the Post Office's £3.00 "small parcel" deal. Do feel free to pass on this information to any sellers who charge an extra pound (or whatever) per additional record - that's going straight into their pockets.
Feel free to ask me stuff. I won't end auctions early, and won't split the lots. Postage at cost within UK - £3.00 plus 50p for a proper record mailer with two stiffener sheets of cardboard (or whatever's appropriate). Happy to do combined postage wherever practical. I'll charge you what it costs me - so anything up to six (or so) LPs would still be the same charge, £3.50. I'm happy to send this overseas. See below for details, if bidding from outside UK - YOU NEED TO KNOW THIS STUFF.
Dispatch will usually be "next day".
Collection in person is welcome.
I don't mail things personally, to countries outside the UK - ( I mean it, don't ask) - but I am happy to use E-Bay UK's Global Shipping Program, for sending things abroad. Under this scheme, I send the parcel to an e-bay depot in UK, and they forward it to the overseas buyer.
They have a tracked courier service, for the journey from their UK depot, to the buyer.
This means that I can ONLY accept payments through e-bay (Pay Now button), and I can't send invoices.
E-Bay UK tells me, they do NOT do combined postage in the Global Shipping Programme. Charges to the customer for delivery and customs charges are whatever you're told they are - if you don't want to pay the postal / courier charges individually for the items, then do not bid. HOWEVER, if you win several items, and pay for them all in the same payment, their system may well spot this and do combined postage. If this happens, pay what you're told, and I will refund the excess postage paid to me - if you buy three LPs, I would be getting three lots of £3.50, but I can send all in one parcel, so I only need one lot of £3.50, usually. The exception is, if the items you buy weigh more than 2 kilos altogether, I need to make two parcels - there is a special cheap postage rate in UK, for parcels under 2 kilos. Overseas customers - please DON'T request an invoice - I can't make one, and it screws-up the e-bay system.
International buyers should be able to see a postage cost to their country, you may have to input your location, if your country is included in the scheme.
If your country is not mentioned, please do not bid.
International postage to the following countries will be shown (this is the latest list that I've seen - lotta countries!)
Australia Austria Belgium Bulgaria Canada Croatia Cyprus Czech Republic Denmark Finland France Germany Greece Hungary Ireland Israel Italy Japan Lithuania Luxembourg Malta Netherlands New Zealand Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, Singapore, South Korea, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand Turkey Norway Poland Portugal Romania Russia Slovakia Slovenia Spain Sweden, United States, Antigua & Barbuda Aruba Bangladesh Barbados Belize Bermuda Bolivia Brunei Darussalam Cambodia Cayman Islands Dominica Ecuador Egypt French Guiana Gibraltar Grenada Guadeloupe Guernsey Iceland Jersey Jordan Liechtenstein Macau Maldives Martinique Monaco Montserrat Nicaragua Oman Pakistan Paraguay Peru Reunion Saint Kitts & Nevis Saint Lucia Sri Lanka and Turks & Caicos Islands
Applicable customs charges will probably be shown to buyers in non-EU countries - E-Bay collects customs duty for the receiving country, wherever import duty is appropriate. If you don't want to pay the customs charges, do not bid.
I don't send to China (because I prefer not to), and I also don't send to Japan, Brazil, Ecuador and Peru, as importation of vinyl records is not permitted in their customs regulations.
