Description

Rolling Stones Their Satanic Majesties Request Psyche Vinyl UK Mono 2K/3K 1967.
A rare psychedelic offering from the UK's favourite rockers. Capturing the spirit of '67, this epic concept album explores uncharted territory for a band at the peak of their creative powers. It also holds a few true hidden gems. Amongst others, there is the wonderful 'She's A Rainbow', which still stands the test of time and remains a staple of their live shows to this day. A must have for all Stones' fans!
This version is an original MONO copy (TXL 103) from 1967 with the unboxed turquoise Decca labels.
VINYL: The vinyl itself has some age related surface marks. Most of them are superficial, non-feelable marks that do not affect play. However, there are one or two that are a bit deeper and feelable. These are mostly located at the start of side one. There are a few marks that cause the record to skip several times at the start of track one and a few times at the start of track two. These are the worst affected tracks - the rest of the side plays well with only the usual light background crackle in the quieter passages. Side two is much better, with only one very brief skip at the start of track one. The rest of the side plays well with only slight background crackle in the quieter moments. However, when the music kicks in, on both sides, it overpowers any unwanted crackle and the delightful mono sound shines through. It is such a shame about the handful of skips because overall it is a decent copy for its age. One to turn up to 11 and rock out to.
LABEL: The iconic turquoise unboxed Decca labels has signs of wear - most notably a few marks and a few tiny scuffs (see pictures).
SLEEVE: The original laminated gatefold sleeve showcases the 3D lenticular image of the band. Unfortunately, the sleeve has come apart by the spine and is being held together by tape (see pictures). However, it still looks and functions fine - opening and closing and holding the record without any problems. There is also a tiny bit of writing on the inside of the sleeve. Apart from this, the psyche imagery still looks great - bright, vivid and full of attitude!
Sadly, the red inner sleeve was lost somewhere back in the day.
This record has been play tested, honestly described and carefully graded. It is not one for the audiophiles but still a decent and enjoyable listen -  a true piece of psychedelic rock history.
