Rolling Stones Their Satanic Majesties Request LP UK 1st Press UNIQUE LABEL EX+

Just spotted that this LP has an almost UNIQUE label design on Side 2. All Stones LPs on UK Decca from 1966/1967 should state 'Made in England' at the top on both labels. It appears that, on this super-early copy, the label design is still in flux. No copies should state 'Original Recording By' - at the top. This is obviously an early aborted design...Check out the other anomalies...The DECCA logo from this period always mentions 'Reg'd' - per the trademark. On side 2 - no mention of the registration to the right of the logo. The speed '33' is also missing as is the '.' next to track '4'. All signs of a copy produced right at the outset as the typographers are working hard to get the design correct for mass production.
An original stereo 1st press of TSMR on the UK Decca label. Matrix 4K/4K - very 1st cut.. I can't find a single instance/example of an earlier cut! Stampers 1K/1C - placing it amongst the first few thousand copies ever pressed. Please note labels are consistent with very 1st press and exhibit the Decca deep groove. The vinyl comes housed in an original Robert Stace 'stereo' cover with the original lenticular image. Also included is the original red and white inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
It's worth mentioning that folk weren't overly enamoured with TSMR on 1st release. It is, consequently, one of the rarer Stones 1st presses out there. And then combine this with the fact that stereo was still yet to over take mono as the format of choice until a year later and hey presto! this is actually quite a difficult LP to find. And if that weren't enough to get you interested...take a look at the preservation levels on this copy. It's amazing!
Vinyl (Ex+) In absolutely stunning condition and has only seen the very lightest use. Under close inspection there are a couple of light marks either side - but nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are absolutely silent and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. I can quite easily place this copy straight in at no.1 for audio - I have never seen another copy look or sound quite this good. Whilst quite liking TSMR I am often left a little disappointed with many copies that surface. They often lack the clarity or have background interference which impairs the rendition. But on this copy - Wow! It's like being sat in the studio - absolute purity of sound and not a whisker of interference. There is so much low-key tinkering around with percussion and horns etc etc that if you don't have a perfectly clean copy the interference just grates. Rest assured this copy will, and I guarantee you, beat every copy in existence on E-bay and anything you've heard before. That sounds a rather big promise - but believe me. THIS is as good as it gets. FINAL UPGRADE. Perhaps a couple of crackles are audible in a couple of isolated moments. Yes, I can make out a couple in RAINBOW - but the clarity of this track is unrivalled absolutely superb. Never heard it like that before...
Cover (Ex/Ex+) Again, who ever owned this LP must have been one fastidious individual! I have only ever seen one mono copy looking quite this crisp and fine. They really are a work of art ! Firstly, there's the lenticular image - this can be found with numerous issues..cracking, curl, dirt. None of that here - it's clean, flat, and very well preserved. The overall image of the front is one of a clean, unaged, well preserved cover. We can make out a small crease in the bottom left corner - but that's all. The rear is immaculate - like a mirror. The interior is in perfect condition with the pocket perfectly preserved on the right side. Edge wear is very slight for this title and the openings are almost sharp. The spine, often a problem area, is 100% intact.  And overall the cover retains perfect rigidity. Don't think I'll be witnessing one at this kind of level for a while.! FINAL UPGRADE.
