Rolling Stones: "Tell Me" 45 & Picture Sleeve
From 1964-Only released in the U.S. > Vintage 45 & Sleeve PLUS the stapled cardboard index card that stores used to categorize records alphabetically in the bins. This index card was stapled just on the top of the sleeve to stand out in the bin making it easier to locate. > I think it came in a plastic bag of some sort, then the card was stapled on. > The card is 2 sided. I purchased it, most likely at a department store near my house.
**The error is in the printing of the index card: Flip side of "Tell Me" was: "I just wanna make love to you" The printed index card says: "I just want to love you baby"- same error on both sides. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Was this error someone's personal negative editorial of the original flip-side title? Or just a printers typographical error? I hadn't noticed the index card error until recently, when researching this item. It is well-known that The Stones were asked to change controversial lyrics when appearing live on some TV shows of the era.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Condition of sleeve is good- no tears, no discoloration. > Sleeve has 2 thumb tack holes: one at top & one at bottom. > 2 sets Staple marks from the index card are showing on top of sleeve. > Record has a number 14 & initials "DW" on one side of the label. > Normal wear from use & handling. **Please see all pics for further info & condition.
