Description

An original 1st press of SF on the UK Rolling Stone label from 1971. Matrix A4/B3. Etching - Rolling Stone Records. The labels do not credit 'Promotone' and therefore this copy qualifies as 1st press. The vinyl comes housed in an original Richard Davis cover with a working zip and a pinched spine. Also included is the original generic white inner sleeve with blue text. Also included is the credit insert printed by Gothic print Finishers [likely to have been a re-print from '72/'73 - as 1st copies would be R.Davis. 100% complete and in superb condition...
Vinyl (Ex+) Wow, it is so so nice when a proper clean copy surfaces. It's seen very very light sue and looks lush! Under close inspection we could only make out a couple of light marks either side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Just very very nice and clean audio all the way through. Even those pernickety tracks on side 2 play really sweet no issues at all, not remotely.  One slight undulation at the start of '..Hear Me Knocking' did initially concern me. But I've very carefully concentrated as the needle crosses this area and I cannot make out anything at all - not even vaguely. Interference is pretty much absent across the entire Lp ..And let me tell you that is quite unusual for SF. All I could pick out were two very light ticks as the final track fades out. Most certainly in the top two copies I've ever auditioned. So, if you're look for the best possible rendition that this Lp can deliver do give this copy serious consideration. FINAL UPGRADE.
Cover (Ex/Ex+) In fantastic condition and, again, the original owner must have been one fastidious individual. These covers so often surface with ageing or foxing. Not here! This bad boy looks and feels clean. They are often heavily marked...Not really..just one mark as you typically find toward the centre-top of the rear [as a result of the zip on other copies]. Many copies are ceased or the flap above the belt is about to fall off. Nope..none of it. And did I forget to mention the zip is not exhibiting any corrosion? It's basically about as good a copy as you'll possibly find. Edge wear is very very light for this title. All the text on the spine is perfectly legible. Overall the cover retains perfect rigidity.
Inner (Ex) Lightest of ageing. No splits or markings.
Insert (Ex) No issues at all.
