Description
Rare Decca Box Set from 1980, valued by the Record Collector Rare Record Price Guide 2012 at around £50.
This lot consists of a box set of twelve 7” singles released in the UK in 1980. The yellow and blue box is made of rather thin flimsy card, and as such has picked up a certain amount of shelf wear and creasing but is structurally intact (grade: G+/VG).
The singles and their picture sleeves are all in excellent condition, having been kept in the Collectors Box since new and never played (grade: EX+/NM).
The records have blue injection-moulded labels, typical of Decca records from that period. They are all unique track couplings for the UK, and in the case of ‘Gimme Shelter’ is the first outing on a 7” single. Several of the other tracks are presented in stereo mix, whereas they were originally released in mono. The tracks are as follows, including matrix numbers:
