Some of my records got played a lot and some not much at all. Some were bought new and some second, third or fourth hand. I'm moving on my collection to the next keeper of the flame.

We are 52 years too late for this vinyl to sound like a CD

Expect some background crackle, and check my audio review to see how much. 

I'm listening through studio headphones, played back on a Thorens deck with a heavier stylus setting to reduce the crackle. I've given the vinyl a quick hand clean with L'Art Du Son Cleaner, and I alway recommend further cleaning as I haven't played this for a long time. Bare in mind that sound reproduction varies from system to system. I will tell you how I hear it. Remember that you  can return the item if you find it unsatisfactory. And please get in touch before rushing ahead to leave bad feedback, you won't lose out so keep calm and get in touch, I aim to please.

S1 VG+

Gimme shelter is sounding great, a bit of crackle at the start which soon clears up after a couple of bars and all is good. I’m looking forward to playing this for you; the sun is out and things are looking up. No issues with that track.  Love in vain, nice sounding acoustic guitar, you can hear all that is going on in the mix. Sounded great to me. Good clean intro to the next track. The audio clarity so far has been spot on. Top end frequencies don’t distort in the choruses. Country honk played perfectly. Quite a timeless album really, perfect summer album and BBQ soundtrack. Live with me and Let it bleed sounded top notch. No issues this side, no pops or repeating clicks, no skip. Only nominal surface noise during the odd quiet part as norm. Grades as very good plus.

S2 VG

Hoping for an enjoyable listen and good results. Midnight Rambler, classic track. This is sounding bass heavy, in a good way. Tasty harmonica. Bit dusty in the first verse in a couple parts. Obviously this track gets played the most. There no loss in the top and low frequencies, no distortion. Generally the track is sounding fine. Some tasty guitar interchanges going on. You got the silver has a delicate sounding intro, it sounds fine, but you will notice background noise more because of this. I mention it because I hear it, rather than because it a problem. Actually I just cleaned a clump of dust off my stylus and it sounds better. Funky intro to Monkey man. The stereo mix sound good in my headphones. The drums too are sounding great, big bass drum. Played perfectly. Can’t always get what you want, starts well, no pops, some surface noise which sounds like dusty grooves. A deep clean would do wonders, but not miracles for this disc. Oooh stereo mixtastic when the whole band come in. Just heard a low muffled pop once just before “Chelsea drugstore”. There’s some nice lead guitar lines being picked out. The breakdown before the choir comes in about half way through is really interesting , and something that I haven’t noticed much before in terms of harmony and tonality. I do really like this track, but I never dug the choir. So, happy to report no issues with this side, othe than what I mentioned. I’m grading it as VG

VINYL CONDITION

GOOD PLUS / GOOD PLUS

Nice flat record.Not too bad a first impression. Obvious signs of use such as superficial marks are present as are some fine scratches. The vinyl does not look trashed in any way and high percentage of surface is unmarked. Side one has a few small more marks than side two. When I look at it I don't feel there are any marks like; very hard scratches that I should be worried about. I feel it has playing life left. Both sides has lost a little of their sheen. None of these posed serious issues during playback aside from adding to some of the feint crackle I heard. 

SLEEVE CONDITION 

Very good plus

The cover as you can see is in pretty good condition.No splits, stickers or names.Creasing and general signs of age present. New spare inner always provided.

GRADING YOUR VINYL

I use the classic U.K Rare Record Guide grading system. Detailed below are their guidelines.

MINT

The LP or single is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items are in perfect condition.

EXCELLENT 

The LP or single shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. Very light marks may be present.The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing but very little.

VERY GOOD

The LP or single has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and an occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover and contents without any major defects.

GOOD

The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild to hard scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
