Rollings Stones – Let it Bleed - 1969 UK MONO 1st pressing on the unboxed red Decca label  - LK 5025 with 1A /2A matrix. In MINT probably unplayed condition. Comes complete with poster and original 1st issue stickered sleeve and uncensored red inner.

20th century collectables usually concerns itself with selling high quality Beatles vinyl, however there are exceptions and this ultra rare UK 1st pressing of the classic Stones album Let it Bleed in mono is one of those exceptions. This copy dates to the original release date of December 5th 1969. This is the Stones at the height of their musical powers; on release it went straight to number one displacing Abbey Road by The Beatles. It would be the last Stones album to be released in mono.

An investment grade copy in stone MINT condition. By 1969 mono had all but been phased out and as such only a small amount of copies were ever pressed. EMI by this time had abandoned mono altogether. 1st pressing mono copies of this album are therefore extremely rare but to find one in absolute perfect condition is an opportunity not to be missed.

This copy is the ultimate upgrade.

Disc

Visual: MINT

A stunning looking disc in MINT condition with absolutely no marks whatsoever. This copy looks as if it left the pressing plant yesterday. Whilst it is impossible to establish whether or not the disc has been played it is quite probable that it has not been played or has at the very least been played only once. The disc lies 100% flat on the turntable.

A stunning set of factory fresh red Decca labels which are completely unblemished and unworn.

Audio:  MINT

Handling pristine MINT vinyl can be a nervous occupation but I decided to give the record one very careful play check. I cannot impress enough how superb the audio is on this particular copy. There is no distortion to any of the music signals or any audible surface noise. The richness, depth and sonic presence of this analogue recording shines through at every stage and is a reminder why vinyl is such a wonderful format. ‘Midnight Rambler’ has an amazing spacial presence (not present on later pressings) as do all the tracks including ‘Gimmie Shelter’ and the fabulous ‘Monkey Man’. As an observation, this mono mix is in my opinion the definitive version of this Stones classic. A true audiophile copy which cannot be upgraded and one not to be missed as there cannot be very many in existence.

Cover

MINT-

An original 1st issue stickered cover with the famous Delia Smith cake and the early spelling of ‘Gimmie Shelter’ as opposed to the later spelling of ‘Gimme Shelter’. The front panel retains its original shop fresh high gloss laminate and is completely unworn. I’m pleased to report there is no thumbnail creasing whatsoever strongly suggesting that the record has not been removed since 1969 if indeed at all. The back panel is free from any writing and is completely unworn and unmarked. Viewing the sleeve from the rear and on very close examination there is a very minor tiny bruise to the top left and bottom right corners. This may have been caused during packing at the factory. A stunning example of a cover which was prone to damage.
